I've spent my whole life behind a camera. When I was a child, my father was a photographer. Anything from travel, to nature, macros and portraits. I spent many a weekend going on hikes and watching him carry all his cameras, tripods, and equipment along with us. I watched him carefully study the light, get out his light meter, set up wind barriers for the wildflowers, then painstakingly get the perfect shot. For him it didn't stop there ....next came the darkroom and then the developing magic! He didn't have the advantage of the digital darkroom that we have today. He also had a portrait studio in our home, and I was many times the "test model".

Having grown up around photography certainly rubbed off on me. I had the old 'brownie' camera as a child.....and have never been without a camera since.
I love taking photos of places I travel, and of nature. Flowers have been a love of mine for a long time, so I incorporated that into macro and still life images that I sell at various online art sites.

I then decided to open myself up to the challenge of portrait work. And I have loved it ever since! I think coming from a background such as mine where large family portraits on the walls seemed the norm, it only felt natural.

I love seeing the beautiful finished wall portraits that I get in the mail for my clients!
It makes me thankful each time I see them that I followed in my father's footsteps.

I truly believe that family portraits are something that should be thought of as a necessity and not a luxury. There is NO going back to capture each precious stage that a child goes through.....it's here today and gone tomorrow.
